“But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives and he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed with the thought.” (Job 19:23-27)
Every morning as we wake up the day is newly started. God is renewing the earth every day. The little animals come out for their first meals and maybe a quick swim. Hopefully, we are waking up rested and rejuvenated as well. But today I woke up struggling with the same exact things that I went to bed with last night. It’s days like today when I wish I could go up and have a sit down with Jesus to ask Him for guidance. It’s mornings like this when I truly wish I knew what Jesus would do if He were in this situation. I ask God for advice and direction. I ask God to show me what to do but I think everything is so jumbled in my mind that even if He was leaning over to whisper His Truth in my ear I may not hear it over the background noise of my heart.
In the mess of our everyday we can be assured of very few things. But we can be assured that our Redeemer lives, we have a home in Him, and He is going to return. We are going to make right choices and wrong choices as we travel our own individual roads of life. We are going to have awesome mountain top experiences and we are going to be in the valleys of despair and heartache. So, instead of trying to figure out where to go next, I think I am going to focus just on Jesus today. Today I am going to try to fixate myself on His Word, His example, and His light and my hope, as I spend time with Him, is that the clouds in my mind will clear and I will know what to do. Maybe by tonight I will feel refreshed and renewed as God had intended for me to feel this morning.
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the earth. God blesses those who thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy. God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called children of God. God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” (Matthew 5:5-10)
In Christ,
Judy
